NOGOF 2019 – A mark of consistent drive to a successful Local Content in Nigeria

The Nigeria Oil and Gas Opportunity Fair which held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State recently brought together the gamut of petroleum industry practitioners across the country

for a roll call on who’s done what towards elevating Nigeria’s drive to a formidable local participation in the business of producing oil and gas.


It was estimated that over three thousand participants converged for three days at the new NCDMB Headquarter Building that is almost fully completed for sort of stock taking on the performances of organizations in the area of local content impact in Nigeria. The opportunities created by some companies were on display.

The high points at the conference were the various papers presented, the discussion sessions that held, key industry issues raised, discussed and solutions proffered, the official presentation of the compendium of opportunities in oil and gas sector by the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote accompanied by Mr. Adelana, a top executive in the NCDMB and Funmi Ogbue, CEO of Jake Riley, the project consultants for NOGOF.

The event which began with a welcome barbecue for participants at the gazebo of the Royal Tulip,  Hotel was climaxed by an Award Night during which various companies that have made significant contributions to Nigerian Content development and identified opportunities in the industry were honored with various awards. Top of the award recipients was Shell for outstanding local content contributions and opportunity creation in the Nigeria oil and gas sector.

Popular entertainers like Mowumi thrilled the delegates and visitors  while Flavor led the audience into a sort of controlled frenzy, especially the ladies, who couldn’t help but let down their guards and danced freely to his energetic frenetic singing and dancing.

In deed NOGOF was admixture of business and fun.
