The Ali Rodriguez Araque Presidential Commission in charge of restructuring Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), recently gave a report on the implementation of a temporary contingency plan to supply fuel.

In a communiqué, the government agency denounced again the negative impact of the unilateral coercive measures implemented by the Donald Trump Administration on Venezuela’s oil industry, with the goal of suffocating the country’s economy.

In that regard, the Commission pointed out that Washington’s punitive actions and pressure against Venezuela, and particularly against PDVSA, its branches and providers, have caused serious damage to the country’s energy sector, mainly the refining system and fuel production.

It also highlighted the efforts made by the Bolivarian Government and the workers of the State-owned company to meet the domestic demand for fuel and boost production, by strengthening the industrial and technological structure of the main refineries.

‘We reaffirm our commitment to producing all the gasoline and other products necessary for Venezuela’s energy development,’ the presidential commission said, after announcing contingency measures to regularize fuel supplies in a short and medium term.
